About Zoe Grey

Zoe Grey is an Oakland-based multimedia artist whose practice centers on painting, illustration, glass work, and digital media. Rooted in surrealism and ecofeminist thought, her work explores the intersections of body politics, gender, sexuality and consumption culture—examining how women’s bodies are depicted, discussed and consumed. Through layered compositions that explore both organic and artificial imagery, Grey creates dreamlike spaces where tension and humor coexist, and where viewers are asked to reconsider the ways that they approach female bodies in art.

In addition to her studio practice, Grey is deeply engaged in community-centered teaching throughout the East Bay, designing digital arts and creative technology classes for youth STEAM programs. Her work as an educator reflects a belief that access to creative expression and technological literacy are essential tools for empowerment and connection.

Grey is currently pursuing her MFA in Visual Arts at California College of the Arts (CCA), where she continues to develop a practice grounded in experimentation, pedagogy, and social engagement.
