The Domestic Sphere
Drawing from domestic interiors and imagery from my home, this project focuses on quiet constructions, intimate scenes layered with vibrant patterned wallpaper and familiar objects. These moments of stillness are disrupted by the presence of spectral hands, which introduce a sense of unease and disturbance into otherwise calm environments.
The work invites viewers into spaces that initially appear safe and personal, encouraging reflection on their own relationships to comfort, fear, and vulnerability. For those who move through the world experiencing heightened risk due to their gender or sexual identity, the project aims to offer a sense of visual recognition and validation. For others, the work opens a conversation about the fragile and conditional nature of safety—even within spaces often understood as sanctuaries, such as the home.
